Admission Requirements

Langara College's School of Nursing will begin accepting applications October 1, 2012 for the September 2013 intake to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Nursing Transition programs.  All applications and supporting documentation must be received by the application deadline of January 31, 2013.

Please refer to the information regarding general requirements for admission and application to Langara College Programs.

Applicants must declare all courses previously taken at other institutions and supply all required documents and official transcripts.

Admission Requirements for the September 2013 intake

  1. A minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.33 on university-transferable courses  is required for admission.
  2. Within the three semesters immediately preceding application, applicants must have completed a minimum of 15 credit hours of university-transferable courses.
  3. Applicants must complete the following 5 courses with a minimum grade of C+ in each course.  These courses can be counted towards the 15 credit hours in requirement 2 above.
    • English 1127 or 1128
    • Biology 1190*
    • Statistics 1124 
    • two university transferable courses

      *To meet program requirements BIOL 1190 and 1191, or equivalents, must be completed at the same institution.

Program Preferences

As there are normally more applications than seats available, preference may be given to applicants with more than the minimum CGPA required for admission to the program.

Application Deadline for the September 2013 Intake

All admission requirements must be complete and documentation submitted by January 31, 2013.

Applicants who receive offers of admission must submit a satisfactory Criminal Records Review and a complete and current immunization and Communicable Disease Form to enter the Program.

Note: The curriculum for the September 2013 and later intakes is currently under review.

An applicant holding a Bachelor's or higher-level degree from a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution is exempt from requirement 2 above.
