Awards & Scholarships
Students are encouraged to apply for the many awards offered at Langara College. All of the available awards are listed in the Langara College Calendar. For further information, please contact the Counselling Office, Financial Aid or Registrar and Enrolment Services.
Students have to be enrolled in the program for one year before they become eligible for nursing awards and scholarships. Listed below are awards/scholarships designated specifically for nursing students. The criteria for nursing scholarships and bursaries are currently under review.
The Irma Musil Scholarship Bursary
This financial award is presented to students who have demonstrated above-average academic and clinical practice performance. To be eligible for this award, you must have:
- completed the first year of the nursing program
- an above average academic standing (B or better)
- received consistently above average practice evaluations
Application forms may be obtained form the Nursing Department.
Maleksultan Hassam Memorial Scholarship
This financial award is presented to the Term 4 student who has achieved the highest Semester Grade Point Average in combination with above average clinical practice evaluations.
The Irma Musil Award for Excellence in Nursing
This award is presented to a graduating student - criteria currently under review.
The CRNBC Professional Award
This award is presented to a graduating student who achieved above average academic and clinical standing in the nursing program as well as demonstrated leadership abilities in the advancement of the nursing profession.
Ellen Low Roets Scholarship/Bursary
This scholarship/bursary is presented to a student registered in Term 9 or Term 10 of the Langara College BSN Program, or to a graduate of the Langara College Nursing Diploma Program who is registered in the final year of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at an approved educational institution. This scholarship/bursary is presented in the Fall every odd year.
The Registered Nurses Foundation Bursary Awards
The Registered Nurses Foundation (RNF) is a registered, charitable organization committed to the advancement of nursing practice and nursing education.
