The Langara Journalism department earned a reputation as a top school for intensive hands on training in all the skills required for successful careers in newspapers, magazines, radio, television, and the web.
The department teaches the fundamentals of journalism while replicating what it’s like to be on the job. Specialities include story telling for multi-media platforms, news writing, research and interviewing, copy editing, newspaper layout and design, and media law and ethics.
All faculty have had successful careers as reporters, editors, producers, broadcasters, photographers, and online editors on a variety of media, from small community papers to urban television stations to national dailies.
