Areas of Interest

  • Ally's current research investigates the molecular mechanisms of ageing skeletal muscle in humans, and how resistance exercise affects the pathways involved 

Academic / College / Community / Research

  • Ally's MSc research investigated the mechanisms of statin-associated muscle pain in both clinical and pre-clinical models. She published a review during this time, elucidating the safety and efficacy of physical activity in statin users

Sport / Activity Background / Hobbies

  • Ally played for the McMaster Woman's Varsity Basketball team during her undergraduate degree. She remains active in the basketball community as, both, an official and a coach
  • Ally also enjoys staying active in her day-to-day life and since moving to British Columbia has begun competing in ultra-endurance events
