The Department of Computer Science is one of the largest college-level computing departments in British Columbia.
The department has earned a reputation of keeping up to date with the latest computer, networking, web, and mobile technologies. This is exemplified in our expansive list of university-transferable courses which can be used to complete the first two years of your Computer Science degree. The department also provides a variety of information systems support courses to other programs within the college, many of which also provide university transfer credit.
Our instructors have years of industry experience and have conducted academic and/ or industrial research which includes work in hardware, software, data communications, database development, and project management. Many have also run their own business. Many of our faculty boast doctorate degrees and many have over 10 years experience in computing. This ensures the quality instruction is always provided to Langara students.
