Dispenser Schedule
Each U-Pass BC card is only valid for the calendar month indicated on the front. The U-Pass BC for the next month will be made available at the dispensers from 10:00am on the 17th (or next business day) of each month. The U-Pass BC for each month is available for pick-up during the following dates:
May (April 17 - May 16)
June (May 17 - June 16)
July (June 18 - July 16)
August (July 17 - August 16)
How can I get my student ID card?
If you do not have a student ID card or do not have one with a black magnetic stripe on the back, you can get one from Instructional Media Services. IMS will operate a student ID printing station in the bottom level of the Langara Students' Union Building at the start of each semester and can be found in room C265 during the rest of the term. Please see their website for schedule and details.
Can I get my U-Pass BC if I have not paid my tuition and fees in full?
You will not be able to pick up your U-Pass BC until your tuition and fees have been paid in full, or you have been granted fee deferral status for the semester with the College. Please note that payments may take up to 24 hours to update U-Pass BC eligibility at the dispensers.
What are the requirements for fee deferral?
If you apply early enough for Student Loans, you will automatically receive deferral status at the time of approval and be eligible to pick up your U-Pass BC. Students with confirmed third party sponsorship are also eligible for fee deferral, and receipt of the U-Pass BC.
The Financial Aid Department may offer a fee deferment plan for students experiencing demonstrable financial hardship. Applications for deferral must be received prior to the tuition payment deadline and will require a deposit payment. Please contact the Financial Aid Department for more information.
What happens if I do not pick up my U-Pass BC?
You will still be charged the full U-Pass BC amount even if you do not pick up your U-Pass BC for each month of the semester.
Where can I see if I am eligible to pick up my U-Pass BC?
Once you log into mylangara and click on the Students tab, you should see a section with the title 'UPass Information". This provides a real-time update of your eligibility to pick up a U-Pass BC from the dispenser machines once the passes for that month have been loaded. Eligible status showing "No" may be a result of not having registered eligible courses, having withdrawn from all eligible courses, or having an outstanding balance on your account and does not necessarily mean that U-Pass BC fees are not assessed.
