Through a variety of iniatives and programs, we have built a rich history of connecting students with some of the best employers in the city. Langara College Student Employment Day
The on-campus Student Employment Day is hosted annually for students to connect with employers face-to-face. 2014 Coming Soon.
Government of Canada Summer Wage Subsidy Program
At the following link employers can apply for funding to cover the cost of hiring a student, under the Canada Summer Jobs Program. Deadline for employers to apply is February 29th, 2012. Not-for-profit organizations can apply for 100% of the wage and for-profit employers apply for a wage top up. Decisions on which organizations are successful with their applications are made in late May, early June. Please visit the Service Canada website to learn more.
Langara workopolisCampus
Students can search the Langara workopolisCampus site for part-time jobs, summer jobs, jobs for grads, and on-campus employment. We actively source opportunities for students throughout the year and many employers are familiar with this channel to recruit our students. Student Work Assistance Program (SWAP)
For students who are looking for financial support, SWAP provides opportunities to work on campus in a variety of capacities. Visit SWAP for more information.
Co-operative Education
Co-operative Education helps students obtain related, hands-on work experience by alternating terms of study and work. This successful model has opened many doors for students and is often sought after by employers. Visit Co-op for more information.
