Recreation Leadership Program
Over twenty alumni who graduated from the Recreation Leadership Program between 1988 and 2010 returned to Langara on October 4 to share their knowledge and experiences in the field, as well as their favourite moments and challenges in the program with current students. Students took the opportunity to ask questions about how to find intern positions, and how the internship helped them in their current roles. The panel members were keen to share their thoughts on how to navigate through this process, as many of them are now employers and intern sponsors.
Alumni who attended work for groups such as the Disabled Skiers Association, the YMCA, community centres, school boards, the Whitecaps, City of Burnaby, the Ladner Boys and Girls Club, and one is a provincial rugby coach.
