On behalf of the inaugural Langara Alumni Association Board of Directors and staff, I am pleased to say that we are well into another record setting summer semester here at Langara and fall registration has already begun. It has been an exciting year for the Langara Alumni Association since the incorporation of the society in January. The Board has formed committees who are working diligently on the long-term vision, branding and goals of the Association. In addition, we have brought 4 affinity partners onboard to provide you with great benefits and services.
June graduation is always an exciting day for students and this year was no different. A large number of new alumni joined our family and we extend congratulations to Langara College Board Chair, Mr. Dennis Dineen, the College's President and CEO, Dr. David Ross, and the Langara College staff for a memorable graduation ceremony. This year's graduation was particularly thrilling as it was the first time we saw alumni representation on the platform party. At the graduation reception alumni sold frames for the credentials which were very well received.
In addition to the new graduates receiving their credentials, we had two alumni return to Langara as convocation keynote speakers. We would like to thank Kevin Hanson and Bruce Hurst for sharing their stories and for their long-time support and connection to Langara.
