Overview

The Langara Centre for Art in Public Spaces, an initiative designed to inspire collaboration among students, professional artists, and the community. The Centre generates creative projects through Artist-in-Residence programs, guest speakers, and continually evolving curricula. The integration of visiting professionals, collaborative exploration and learning opportunities makes the program unique in Canada.

An interdisciplinary approach will highlight public art studies across courses in Fine Arts, Design Formation (formerly Display+Design), Art History, Business Management, and Applied Urban & Rural Planning. Students draw from a range of fields to get an in-depth understanding of the creation, methodologies, and effects of art in shared social spaces.

Langara College welcomes current Artist-in-Residence Holly Ward and her project, The Pavilion.
