Langara students applying to homestay must complete an application form (available from the Homestay Office) and return it and a cheque or money order for CAN $1875 ($375 placement fee and the first and last months' homestay fees at $750/month) to the college.
Students who do not pay the placement fee and deposit at the time of application will not have a homestay arranged for them until the fees are paid.
It is recommended that students apply for homestay at least two months prior to the date on which they must report to the college. Reporting dates are available from the Homestay Office.
Students are allowed to move into homestay one week prior to the date on which they must report to the college. Students who arrive before these dates must find their own accommodation until the homestay period begins.
Students who do not apply on time may have to find and pay for their own temporary accommodation until such time as a homestay can be arranged. In these cases, students would meet with the Homestay Coordinator after arrival to discuss possible homestay placements. Students would move into homestay as soon as suitable homes were available.
