FULL-TIME PROGRAM APPLICANTS
All students admitted to full-time Continuing Studies programs longer than 6 months in duration are required to have a study permit issued to them by Citizenship and Immigration Canada through their local Embassy, Consulate, High Commission or Visa Application Centre.
ADMISSION TO PART-TIME PROGRAMS/COURSES
Individuals who are in Canada on a tourist or visitor visa may take a program or courses that are less than 6 months in duration and can complete the program during the remaining duration of their visitor status. No official Letter of Acceptance will be issued to these students. Medical insurance remains the responsibility of the individual to ensure that proper coverage has been arranged for. Students registered for courses delivered online will not be issued a Letter of Acceptance unless a component of their program requires them to attend classes in person on a Langara College campus.
WORK PERMIT HOLDERS
Individuals who have been issued a valid Work Permit are required to apply for a Study Permit for any programs studied at Langara longer than six months, part-time or full-time. Individual courses are not part of a program, and therefore do not require a Study Permit (for courses up to a maximum of six months duration).
International students considering Continuing Studies programs are requested to contact the International Education office for more information by emailing international@langara.bc.ca.
