Expressive Arts Therapy (CS)

Overview

Expressive Arts Therapy constantly seeking ways of knowing and responding to human suffering and passion. The premise of our work is that art and its modes of expression are a way to explore and support transformation through the imagination.

The Expressive Arts Therapy Certificate Program is the only integrative arts-based therapy training in BC. The training provides students with the unique skills necessary to practice as an Expressive Arts Therapist within a range of educational, clinical, and community settings.

The training consists of academic and studio-based learning, as well as supervised practice in the community. Students learn to integrate artistic modalities such as visual arts, theatre/drama, movement, and creative writing into therapeutic practice. Learning takes place in the context of small groups, which move through the program together to provide personal support and a professional network.
