Some language courses are available as Guided Independent Studies (or correspondence) courses. This method allows you to work alone. Examinations are scheduled within limits set by the department.
Details vary slightly according to course level. You are expected to pick up materials at the beginning of term and to complete work according to schedules set by your instructor. Spanish 1115 G.I.S. has two mid-term exams and a final exam. G.I.S. instructors have regular office hours when they are available for consultation.
