Chinese
"Learning Chinese at Langara was a very special experience for me. All the instructors I had were professional and passionate about their teaching. They encouraged students to come up with more questions even after class. What is more, courses I took at Langara were very well structured in terms of their distribution of practice for pronunciation, grammar, translation and writing characters. I am now continuing to study Chinese at UBC. Although UBC uses different textbooks, the contents and structures are quite familiar to me. I feel so comfortable in class that it is as if I am still at Langara. I do believe that it was the instructors who prepared me so well to move on to the next level. I would like to convey my sincere appreciation to all the instructors I had."

"After spending two years studying Chinese at Langara College, I can look back to the time spent as truly a valuable experience in which I could establish good fundamentals of the Chinese language in both pronunciation and grammar. Though learning Chinese is not an easy task, the Chinese instructors there were very helpful and encouraging. Soon after I finished the last Chinese exam in Langara College, I departed for China to travel. Despite the fact that my Chinese level was not all that high, I didn't have much trouble in communicating in Chinese. Honestly, I was amazed at the extent of my level of communication in Chinese after two years. Currently, I am taking two advanced Chinese classes at UBC. If you are considering studying Chinese, I highly recommend you to start at Langara College – an efficient and effective choice!"

"My learning experience at Langara's Chinese Language program has given me confidence for my endeavors at UBC. As a mature student and after an extended absence from the classroom, the instructors' recognition of my hard work eased my struggle tremendously. They showed me that with willingness to learn, students can and will excel. However, it is the dedication and passion of the Chinese Language that inspired me to more advanced study in Asian Studies. The time I spent in Langara will always bring back warm memories."
