Modern Languages Student Work Assistance Program (SWAP) Work

Published Sep 16, 2011

The Department of Modern Languages is accepting applications for an on-call, as needed position.  The quantity of work will depend on specific projects available, and no minimum hours are guaranteed.  This position might suit a SWAP student who already has a position but is able to work more hours.  Work hours will be flexible.

Possible projects include:

  • converting Word documents to HTML and creating web pages;
  • organizing departmental book collection;
  • ripping and renaming audio files;
  • editing and updating Word documents;
  • and other tasks as needed.

 Applicants should provide a résumé and be able to demonstrate evidence of the following skills and qualifications:

  • Spanish reading and writing at an intermediate level or higher (knowledge of French would be an asset);
  • HTML and web authoring at an intermediate level or higher;
  • Microsoft Word editing and formatting at an intermediate level or higher;
  • audio file management.

 Bring your résumé to Sean James in A344 (northeast corner, 3rd floor of A building).  Call 604 323-5449 if you have any questions.
