STEPHANE VENU BOISJOLY Instructor+
Stephane Venu Boisjoly, Senior Yoga Teacher, has been teaching yoga and Vedanta philosophy since 1972. He has learned with Indian master Swami Vishnu Devananda who brought the synthesis of yoga to the West in 1957 and who founded the International Sivananda Organization. Accompanied with his harmonium, Sri Venu conveys the spirit of the scriptures in a simple and lively manner.
NASEEM GULAMHUSEIN Instructor+
Naseem Gulamhusein, BA, E-RYT, Senior Yoga Teacher, is a Certified Program Planner (CPP), and teacher trainer for the Langara College Yoga Teacher Training Program. She has studied and trained in classical Ashtanga, Raja and Hatha yoga; as well as contemporary studies in Kundalini Yoga. With over 15 years of practice and 11 years of teaching, she has taught courses and workshops internationally. Her vision is to bring higher education into the practice and training of yoga.
DR. MIA KALEF Instructor+
Dr. Mia Kalef, has been a student and practitioner of yoga since 1992. Her career as a Chiropractor and Craniosacral Therapist has made it her joy to incorporate the principles of Energetic Medicine into movement, anatomy and physiology. Using the perspective that the body is an articulate communicator about our health, she has worked with families and adults since 1998, helping them decode their unique ‘body languages’. She is the author of The Secret Life of Babies: An Exploration of Infant Consciousness.
LESLEY KOVITZ Instructor+
Lesley Kovitz (Yeshey Palmo), BA, has 15 years experience as a counsellor, yoga teacher, mediation coach, adult educator and 18 years of extensive study and practice of meditation. She is an executive assistant to Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo, subject of acclaimed novel Cave in the Snow: Tenzin Palmo’s Quest for Enlightenment.
MADHURI PHILLIPS Instructor+
Madhuri Phillips, BFA, CAS, Senior Yoga Teacher. Madhuri received her BFA in contemporary dance from SFU and studied at The Bihar School of Yoga, the world’s first Yoga University where she was under the direct guidance of Swami Niranjananda Saraswati. She is a certified Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist (CAS) and Pancha Karma Specialist (PKS), receiving certification from the California College of Ayurveda as well as advanced training with Dr. Vasant Lad.
PRAVIN PILLAY Instructor+
Pravin Pillay, MBA, MFA, journeyed to India in 1997 and studied with
many scholars and practitioners in Southern India. Pravin now devotes
himself to working with values driven leaders of innovative social
ventures and enterprises that seek to make a difference in the world. He
is the principal behind Emergent Performance Consulting Ltd., a
Canadian group working with executive leadership teams in organizations.
MICHAEL STONE, MA Guest Teacher+
Michael is a psychotherapist, yoga teacher and Buddhist
teacher, based in Toronto where he leads Centre of Gravity. His
teachings integrate the insights of western psychology, thepractices of
yoga, and the wisdom of Buddhist meditation and philosophy. He is the
author of numerous books, most recently, Awake in the World: Teachings from Yoga and Buddhism for Livingan Engaged Life (Shambhala Publications).
