Tuition & Refund

Tuition Fees

Permanent Residents & Canadian Students:

  • CAD$40 non-refundable application fee
  • Tuition fees for eligible applicants may be paid through funding from the Government of Canada under the Canada-B.C. Immigration Agreement. Register in person with proof of immigration status or Canadian citizenship (e.g. landing papers, permanent resident card (PR card), refugee status, Canadian passport or Canadian Citizenship card).

International Students:

  • CAD$155 non-refundable application fee
  • CAD$2600 tuition fee per 7-week session (includes $500CAD non-refundable tuition deposit); tuition will increase to CAD$2780 for the session starting August 27, 2012

International students applying to the program must register for two sessions of STEP ($2600CAD x 2 = $5200CAD). The tuition for your first two sessions is non-refundable and non-transferable. Please refer to refund policies.

 

Refund Policy

Permanent Residents & Canadian Students:

All sessions:
  • Tuition fees for eligible applicants may be paid through funding from the Government of Canada under the Canada-B.C. Immigration Agreement. Students must complete the session in which they register. There are no refunds.

International Students:

First 2 sessions:
  • There is no refund for the first 2 sessions. The first 2 sessions must be taken consecutively. Please note that this policy also applies when a study permit renewal letter is issued.
Subsequent sessions:

The non-refundable tuition deposit is CAD$500 per session.

  • The last day to change your session start date and move forward your full tuition without losing the non-refundable deposit is one month before program start date.

  • The non-refundable tuition deposit will be charged if you withdraw or change your session start date up to 2 weeks before the program start date.
  • A partial tuition refund of 50% will be given if you withdraw or change your session start date up until the Friday of the first week of class.
  • No refund will be given after the Friday of the first week of class.
Study permit delays & refusals:
  • Students applying to STEP from outside of Canada who have not received their study permit in time to attend the session they are registered for, must notify us in writing at least two weeks before the program start date. A $100 administration fee is charged when a new Letter of Acceptance is issued.  
  • Students whose visa application is denied by Immigration Canada will receive a full refund (minus bank charges) once they submit their letter of explanation from Immigration Canada.
STEP Refund Policies are under review and subject to change.
