Tanya Bennett Instructor+
Tanya is a writer, trainer, musician, and business owner. Her company Full Serve Web Inc develops, implements, and manages web projects for businesses. Fueled by business knowledge that is sparked by her creativity, Tanya makes it easy for clients to use the web to drive business growth.
Tanya has a B.A. in English Literature from the University of British Columbia, where she also studied Creative Writing, Studio Arts, and Film. She has over 15 years’ business experience as a business manager, trainer, instructional writer, project manager, and consultant. More recently, she has worked as a freelance writer, web administrator, and social media manager.
When Tanya isn’t behind the wheel at Full Serve Web she can be found behind her bass guitar in a local band called Mink Valley.
John Boon Instructor+
John is a business lawyer, consultant, businessperson, writer, speaker, and educator. He works with many industry sectors, corporations, governments, non-governmental organizations, and business stakeholders. For decades, his focus has been business management and development, business law and related law reforms, and learning and dialogue products.
Until 1987, John was a senior policy and legal analyst with the Saskatchewan Department of Justice where he headed extensive programs for business law reform and enforcement. Prior to 1984, he was a university student, businessman, broadcaster, and political journalist and advisor.
Andy Helmi Instructor+
Andy is a graphic & website designer, technical consultant and online marketing specialist. His academic training background includes ten years of education in computer science, digital art and music.
He has 15 years of working experience in both technical and design fields, currently teaches at two colleges in Vancouver, BC, and works as a freelance designer.
Andy was the digital production manager at the BMO Vancouver Marathon for two years and his current and past clients include US/Canada Government Business Association, Vancouver English Centre, Fairleigh Dickinson University, BMO Bank of Montreal, Adidas, Canadian International Sports Academy and McDonald’s restaurant.
Jill Kenney Instructor+
Jill is an entrepreneur, a small business owner, and an award-winning business plan writer with over ten-years professional experience in sales and marketing.
Since the completion of her postgraduate ‘Asia Pacific Management Coop Program’ in 2002, she has been busy gaining valuable real-world business experience both locally and globally in service, manufacturing, and retail environments. She opened, operated (staff of 8), and sold (for profit) a successful business – the Business Plan for which won Small Business BC’s Annual Business Plan Award, 2009.
Today Jill works in partnership with a fellow Marketing Expert to offer Social Media and PR Courses and Consulting Services to local business, and not-for-profits.
In the past few years, Jill was a volunteer and organizer of a variety of successful fundraising campaigns for Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, and BC Children’s Hospital.
Felicia Lee Instructor+
Felicia is a Business Coach/Advisor and founder of Candeo Communications Inc, a firm specializing in Business Development and Sales Systems for entrepreneurs and professionals. Skilled in creative problem solving, Felicia has a natural ability in inspiring her clients to take their business and professional development to the next level.
Her experience includes building and bringing new services and products into markets, developing business opportunities for entrepreneurs, creating networks and connections for entrepreneurs, and being a mother to two amazing daughters.
She holds an Electrical Engineering degree and an MBA from the University of British Columbia. Felicia is also the Business Development Director and Vancouver Chapter Director for Enterprising Moms Network, an organization supporting mom entrepreneurs with educational resources and networking opportunities
Christina Li Instructor+
Christina is a certified general accountant (CGA) with 10 years experience in accounting, auditing, and tax planning, Christina earned her Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certification from the Canadian Certified Payroll Manager program and completed her Master’s of Accountancy at Brock University in Ontario.
Christina currently operates her own practice providing accounting and tax services to small to medium sized businesses as well as individual clients. On her off time, she serves on the board of directors of the CGA Vancouver Chapter as secretary.
By instructing the accounting and bookkeeping courses for the self-employment program at Langara College, Christina delivers practical accounting and tax knowledge to entrepreneurs to help them grow their businesses.
Dave Schulte Instructor+
Dave is a business owner, operating a consulting and training business. He currently instructs and facilitates business courses for both public and private post-secondary institutions. He is also one of the business advisors for the EASE Self-Employment program.
Dave's reputation has grown strong in the community as he works hard to help others in business achieve success. In 2001, he was one of six business people in Canada to be recognized by The Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Small Business Division, and was appointed to their "Hall of Fame". He is a proven leader and a motivator.
Dave has developed curriculum for training programs, written courses and has authored a series of workshops designed to improve the skill levels of both entrepreneurs and employees. He has recently co-authored a book "A Practical Approach to Entrepreneurship."
With over twenty years of experience, Dave has proven himself as a leader in his field.
Mary Servant Instructor+
Mary has experience in a variety of computer related services. Acquainted with computers from its infancy Mary has over 20 years of administrative, technological and instructional experience. Mary is well accomplished in many applications and works a variety of projects.
Mary comes from a background working for large corporate companies. After being laid off from the corporate world, Mary took a self-employment program much like the E.A.S.E. Program and started her own business. She now uses her experience and knowledge to offer business support services in many areas of computer and administration for small and micro businesses, providing flexible, on-site and virtual support so the business owner can focus on other matters.
Mary has been doing the application training at E.A.S.E. for almost 4 years and feels great about giving back to the neighborhood where she grew up and being part of a program that did so much for her, by giving her the knowledge and confident to make her business a reality.
