Program Highlights:

This new program differs from Langara’s Image Consulting Certificate (ICC) Program in that the Holistic Image & Style Advisor program provides additional content, theory, and training at an advanced level of practice and addresses client management from a holistic perspective.

Duration: 8 months, full-time

Schedule:

• Program starts January 2012
• 5 hours a day, 4 days per week
• evenings from 3-9 pm
• 24 courses; total of 590 hours (including a 110 hour internship)
• 2 years to complete certificate

Class time includes lectures, group discussions, field trips, practical experience and an internship in major fashion stores in the Vancouver area.

Admission Requirements:

• Special admission for graduates of Langara’s ICC Program
• Fluency in written and spoken English (Grade 12 English or equivalent)
• 19 years of age or older with a strong interest in fashion
• Minimum 2 reference letters (see application form for criteria)
• Acceptance into the program is determined through the admission process and available space
• Signed Consent and Waiver form and completed application form

Program Cost:

• Tuition $7,999
• 10% discount for accepted applicants when paying for the program in full by Dec 1, 2011
• A $50 non-refundable application fee

• To offer comprehensive programming, and innovative leadership that is unique in its approach
• Provide first-rate education for this expanding career alternative
• Inspire graduates to create a change in the current fashion industry; emphasizing client’s self-expression
• Produce well qualified and compassionate Image Advisors/Consultants who will elevate the vocation and promote professionalism in the current fashion world
• Ensure that graduates of the program will recognize, support and respect the fragility of the human ego with respect to self-image and outward expression
• Provide business expertise to ensure that graduates are prepared to open a business, or to join a company that requires this unique service

Graduates of the HISA Program will be well qualified to open their own holistic image consulting business, work as a corporate image consultant, fashion colour analyst, fashion show coordinator, and work in the retail sector as a personal shopper or, with additional qualifications, as a personal coach or event planner.

Note: The industry's professional international association – the Association of Image Consultants International (AICI) comes with its own levels of certification. Langara’s graduates are able to join AICI and acquire additional international certification if they choose.
