The Electronic Media Design Program is a one-year, full-time curriculum, designed to train graphic designers in web and interactive media. The emphasis is to train individuals in the strategic and stylistic elements of design, then ensure they have a strong technical background in order for them to effectively produce design work within a project’s budget. This is not a desktop publishing program, nor one that focuses exclusively on technical issues. It would be an advantage to have some design experience, but it is not a prerequisite.
Students will be using a 15" Apple MacBook Pro laptop with full educational versions of the following software:
- Apple's Final Cut Pro X, Motion 5, and Compressor 4
- Adobe Design Premium CS5.5
Photoshop CS5 Extended
Illustrator CS5
InDesign CS5.5
Dreamweaver CS5.5
Flash Professional CS5.5
Flash Catalyst CS5.5
Fireworks CS5
Acrobat X Pro
Bridge CS5
Device Central CS5.5
Entry into this program is based on an application interview. Students will receive one-on-one consultation and instruction. All instructors are professional designers from the print and electronic media design industries, chosen for their extensive technical knowledge and industry recognized expertise.
