Chiang Mai and Northern Thailand

Thailand is often described as a ‘golden land’; an intoxicating mix of white sand beaches, emerald rice paddies, and unending hospitality bound together by the love for the world’s longest reigning monarch, and the ever-present, moderating influences of Buddhism. Today, it represents a fascinating nation steeped in tradition, desperately trying to hold onto its past, while forging ahead to the future. Nowhere is that more apparent than in the north, and specifically, in the Bohemian, art-infused culture of Chiang Mai. This photography focused trip, led by Andrea Sirois and Mark Mauchline, offers students the opportunity to experience and document both the historical and contemporary highlights of Northern Thailand. Photo sessions with Langara photography instructor will focus on exploring and refining technical and compositional skills, while experimenting with creative techniques. This photography themed trip will enhance participants Thailand experience.
