Spend time photographing one of the most vibrant and exciting cities in Europe with Langara photography instructor, Ross Durant.  Experience the food, culture and vibrance of this eclectic and very diverse Spanish city.  Barcelona is the capital and the second largest city in Spain, and largest metropolis on the Mediterranean coast. Famous for its architecture, most notably the work of architect Antoni Gaudí, this city is a visual treat for anyone who is interested in learning techniques and skills to improve travel photography imagery.  To add contrast diversity to this experience, the program also includes a 3-day visit to the nearby sea side villages of the Costa Brava.

Course Objectives:

  • Gain technical skills for documenting urban and coastal landscapes
  • Explore ways to refine and improve skill in composition and image design
  • Experiment with different natural lighting conditions while shooting at dawn, sunset, and dusk
  • Practice using a variety of filters and other accessories to improve images
  • Experience how the environment and culture influences the creative process

Students should possess a basic proficiency in using 35mm SLDR equipment a minimum 2 interchangeable zoom lenses.
