The Langara men had back to back matches over the weekend against local rival the Douglas College Royals. On Saturday the Falcons and Royals battled hard, exchanged plenty of chances, but neither team could finish their opportunities. The loan difference maker came late in the first half when the Royals were awarded a penalty kick, they made it count and took the game 1-0. On Sunday the Falcons came out looking to reverse the result, they got off to a good start getting a goal off the head of striker Brett Wiens. Douglas tied it up a short time later, and Wiens answered back to put the Falcons up 2-1. Again the Royals clawed back to even the score. Falcons goalkeeper Lukas Strauts made a couple of great saves to maintain the tie, but Douglas eventually found their mark when one of their strikers Mark Baldisimo was able to get in all alone, he beat Strauts with a neatly placed shot and Douglas took the game 3-2.
The Falcons are currently tied for 4th place in the PACWEST and will play VIU on Saturday October 11th 3:00pm at UBC.
