Langara College is committed to sustainable construction. All of our new buildings on campus, including the Library/Classroom Buidling, Building C, and the Student Union Building (SUB) are built to LEED Gold Standards and boast special green features.
What is LEED?
LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design - a Green Building Rating System. It is a third-party certification program which is internationally accepted as the benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings. It promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water and energy efficiency, materials selection, and indoor environmental quality.
