Subject Area: Early Childhood Education Basic Diploma Program and the Post Basic Early Childhood Education Special Education Citation Program.
Description of Position:
We require an Early Childhood Education Instructor to teach in a term position for the 2012_20 (May – Aug.) semester. The successful candidate will be able to teach all facets of both the Basic and the Post Basic programs. The applicant will have particular knowledge and experience in the areas of infant and toddler care and supporting children with extra support needs and their families. The courses available for this semester include: ECED 1315, ECED 1214, and practicum supervision for both basic and post basic students.
Qualifications:
- An appropriate Master’s degree is desirable with the minimum requirement of holding a Bachelor degree in a related discipline.
- The applicant will also have acquired the provincial license to practice as an early childhood educator, a special needs educator and an infant /toddler educator or equivalent.
- The applicant will have experience and abilities teaching adults either at college, a continuing education environment, or in-service work related to training.
- At least five years of experience working with young children in a variety of childcare setting is preferred.
Salary Range: Salary placement on Langara instructors’ salary scale in accordance with qualifications and experience.
